I have 8 years experience as a KS2 teacher. I am currently working part time as a Y4 teacher and have experience of teaching both Y5 and Y3 pupils. More recently, I have provided private maths and science tuition for KS3 and KS4 students (GCSE) throughout the Worcestershire region.

I feel that it is important to build the self confidence of each of my students and to ensure a clear understanding of basic skills. This is done carefully, ensuring that the student works at his/her own pace. Plenty of encouragement and praise is issued liberally! This then enables the student to make good and sometimes outstandingly rapid progress. My aim is to create a friendly, non-pressured approach to learning. I assess the children carefully through questioning and discussion to identify each child's misconceptions and weaknesses. I then use a range of strategies and explanations appropriate to that child's abilities. This approach leads to growing understanding and confidence enabling the student to make solid progress. Tutor sessions are available in the student's own home or mine, wherever your child feels most comfortable and at ease.
